Wow, if you’re a UK resident who missed out a ticket to the London 2012 Olympics, free tickets are (still) available for Super Hi-Vision screenings at the BBC Radio Theatre, BBC Scotland (Glasgow) and the National Media Museum in Bradford. Before the games get started, the Radio Theater is screening a London Prepares promo from July 23rd to the 28th. During the games (July 28th – August 12th) all will have highlights of the previous day’s action from the Aquatic Centre, Olympic Stadium, Velodrome, and Basketball Arena plus clips of the Opening Ceremony. The lone live feed is scheduled for Sunday July 29th, from the Aquatics Centre. Other viewing locations are in Japan and Washington D.C. Read Engadget.

Grant Hackett: Blame me, not the booze
32-year-old Grant Hackett has told Channel 9’s 60 Minutes that it was the breakdown of his marriage to Candice Alley, and not excessive drinking, that had caused him to snap. Read Adelaide Now and see The Telegraph.
“The reality was it wasn’t going well and I kept those cards really close to my chest and I just wasn’t dealing with it, wasn’t dealing with it well at all,” he said.
“And it gets to a point where it’s like a Coke bottle. It just keeps getting shaken and shaken and shaken and shaken and if you don’t release it, it explodes.”

Behind the scenes of the ‘underwater nightclub’
Oh no, it was fake. Via Yahoo! News …
“We didn’t want to create a hoax,” says Krivicka, who produced the video with Thinkmodo co-founder James Percelay. “Instead, we imagined a ‘what if’ scenario. We wanted to make sure that this all could exist. The diving helmets are real; there are pressurized drinking containers. Some guy in Dubai has probably already seen this and is trying to make it happen.”
