It isn’t every day that an Olympic gold medalist is at Notre Dame. It is even more rare for an Olympic gold medalist to voluntarily journey to South Bend for a swimming clinic. But this was not your average swimming clinic and Tyler McGill is not your average Olympic gold medalist. Read more here on ND Blogs:

“When Brian [Barnes] first asked me about coming to this event it was a no brainer,” said McGill, “Not just because it is something that I believe and a great cause in the work that RiverBend [Cancer Services] does to support families, but my swimming career and my life has been strongly impacted by others who have had cancer and Brian has gone through everything possible in the last year. To be able to come here and raise funds for that foundation and teach the kids butterfly at the same time, is a no-brainer.”

Doub, 24-year-old swimming coach Craig Evans had typed an intimate invitation to his girlfriend asking her if she would like to engage in sex with him ‘skin on skin’, when a slip of the fingers on his BlackBerry smartphone resulted in it going out to ALL the numbers on his phone. As well as having to deal with the humiliation of his family and friends reading the message (/invitation), Evan’s mistake led to far more serious consequences, when his hot message also found its way to two young schoolgirls apparently in his swim class, resulting in him being arrested and charged with causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and being jailed for 18 months. Sentence later reduced to nine months and then suspended, ‘given the unusual circumstances’ of him inviting everybody he knew for sex.
