Read Detroit Free Press
Clary said, in fact, he will pursue a full-time motor sports career after Rio, either behind the wheel or as part of a pit crew.
Even with a plate full of swimming and classes, Clary has participated in a number of racing schools around the country and will run in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity race at the IZOD IndyCar Series Toyota Grand Prix weekend, April 19-21 at Long Beach, Calif.
“I’ve always been a racer at heart, in the water and on the track,” said Clary, who tried his hand at off-road desert racing, too, in a Toyota FJ Cruiser he helped build. “I’ve won a gold medal in the pool, and my goal now is to become a champion at some level in motor racing.”
