The Order of Ikhamanga will go to Olympic swimmer Chad Le Clos, who will be awarded in silver for his achievements in swimming, notably in last year’s London Olympics. The order recognises those who have excelled in the arts, culture, literature, music, journalism and sport.

A really nice short film about extreme ocean rower Livar Nysted, the other true (living) sports hero of the Faroe Islands.
Livar is an extremely grounded person, in the photo below he is giving free rides to children in a dressed-up rowing boat at the annual “Seaman’s Day” in KlaksvÃk.

She was entered in 15 events, placed for the final in all of them, and with the 50 meter dashes being arranged as skins the races really added up for the girl dubbed swimmings «Iron Lady». For the skins she only miscalculated in the first heat of the 50 meters butterfly, otherwise she made the final event for those too.
She wasn’t taking it easy either setting a total of seven meet records along the way.

A short dance film, written and performed by David Bolger (choreographer and artistic director of CoisCéim Dance Theatre, Dublin) along with his 76-year-old mother, Madge Bolger. The film was shot in the Marian College swimming pool, where Madge worked as a swimming instructor for many years and where she taught David to swim.

Should you feel shy about the noises you make in the bathroom, the folks at Akatu have developed an iOS app to disguise them called Fake Shower. It emulates the sound of running water (either from a shower or open tap) and measures how much water you’ve saved by using the app instead of turning on the shower or faucet. It’s available to download at the iTunes store.
