Cal swim coach Kristen Cunnane will share her inspiring tale of surviving child sex abuse in the Moraga school district in an hour-long show on the Oprah Winfrey Network on Tuesday.
Cunnane, who’s story was profiled by this newspaper a year ago, will be featured on “Our America with Lisa Ling” at 10 p.m. Pacific time on Tuesday on OWN.
A physical education teacher was convicted of molesting Cunnane over a number of years and the Walnut Creek resident has sued the school district claiming she was abused by two teachers after administrators failed to report earlier abuse as mandated by law.

Erica Morningstar hints at retirement after 200m win
Read The Province
She did all she could to help her team come close to a title … perhaps for the final time.
Erica Morningstar, a two-time Olympian, won the 200m IM at the 2013 CIS swimming championships at the University of Calgary’s Aquatic Centre and then promptly announced to the crowd that it was the final meet of a terrific career in the pool, though she stopped short of uttering the word ‘retirement’.
“I knew coming in that this was going to be my last meet, but I didn’t want to think about it that way because there was lots of racing to do,†said the 23-year-old. “I’m not formally announcing my retirement, but I’m definitely taking a break from swimming for the moment.â€
