Long before my swimming career took off – in fact, ever since my home economics class at high school – I dreamt of having my own restaurant. By 2011 the time had come to turn that long-held dream into a reality. I got some investors together, we found a great site by the beach in Perth, our offer on the lease was accepted that December and Bib & Tucker started to become a reality.
But we only got to open the doors in March – a mere 15 months later. After all the ups and downs, I have only just started to sit back and realise what we have created, and I am very proud. Bib & Tucker serves up good, honest food, cooked well. We are not a fine dining establishment but we are not a cafe either.

Ruta Meilutyte, the Plymouth-based Lithuanian Olympic champion, cracked the European record with a storming 1:05.20 victory in the 100m breaststroke on the opening day at the Monte Carlo round of the Mare Nostrum Tour this evening. Out in 30.80, she was a touch slower than any of her three splits at the Olympic Games on the way to gold at 15 last summer in London. However, in the pool under the football pitch in the principality on the Med she came back a touch faster and shaved 0.01sec off her own continental standard, set in the semis at the Games.
Danish and Faroese swimming is shell-shocked today by the news that Danish national team member Frans Johannesen at the Danish Open 2013 meet in March was tested positive for Terbutaline. Frans himself thinks that the positive test is because of the asthma medication he used during the Danish Open.
– “I am used to using an inhaler every day. Therefore I didn’t give it a thought that the new inhalator that I used during the Danish Open should contain an illegal substance, ” says Frans Johannesen.
BuzzFeed calls it ‘hilarious’. I find any kind of exercise product interesting and relevant that works by adding water. And then I laugh :-)
