    Due to the fact that this device will be available in the end of May 2014 only and, in order to ensure that a maximum number of swimmers have access to it for testing and practising, under the supervision of the FINA TSC Delegate present at the event, the FINA TSC Commission recommends that:

    • The device be used at the FINA Swimming World Cup 2014 Series in both competition and warm-up pools.

    • After the conclusion of the last FINA SWC 2014 event, and following the reports of the FINA TSC Delegates present at each meet, the FINA TSC Commission will make a final recommendation on whether the device is to be used in Doha 2014 or later in Kazan 2015.

    A 55-year-old man drowned in Lake Camelot when he jumped in the water and tried to swim after his pontoon boat that was floating away from shore, police said.

    The Rome Police Department responded to the Lake Camelot Property Owner’s Association boat landing in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue for a report of a possible drowning around 9:50 a.m. Monday, according to a release.

    Officers found a man face down on the shore at the Salisbury Beach Club, officials said. The man’s neighbor and witness at the scene told police they had just pulled the man from Lake Camelot.

    As the investigation of a High Springs Community School behavioral resource teacher for kindergarten through fourth grade and part-time swim coach continues, investigators have determined that seven young boys so far have fallen prey to sexual overtures by their coach. More victims have been rumored, but Gainesville Police Department (GPD) investigators will not substantiate a specific number until the investigation has been completed.

    A Thai fisherman was rescued by a Malaysian oil rig worker following a seven-hour swim after falling off a boat early on Saturday morning.

    The man fell into the water around 130 kilometres off the coast of Kuala Terengganu in northern Malaysia.

    The victim, identified as Tok Saphon Samechit, 32, is believed to have fallen overboard at about 4am while relieving himself over the side of the boat

    The fisherman then swam for seven hours towards an oil rig after seeing the light in the distance.

    Tyler Clary has dreams of racing on the NASCAR circuit.

    However, before he drops the green flag in that sport, Clary has his sights set on other goals – a world championship and another gold medal.

    So even if he didn’t win in either of the two finals he swam in during the final day of the Charlotte Grand Prix, he said it’s all part of the process to prepare for the important stuff.

    “Winning at these meets is cool and everything, but it really doesn’t mean much,” said Clary, who recently began training with the SwimMAC program. “We’re looking ahead to the world championships and the Olympics (in 2016).”

    A single zebrafish, exposed to alcohol, not only doubles its swim-speed among its “sober” peers, but also increases the speed of the whole group, a new study has found.

    New findings by researchers at the New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering are helping to unravel the complex interplay between alcohol and social behaviour and may lead to new therapies for mitigating the negative impacts of alcohol use and abuse.

    A team led by Maurizio Porfiri devised an original method that would allow for detailed tracking of a single, alcohol-exposed zebrafish amid a school of “sober” peers.

    A father has been charged with child abuse after he chucked his two-year-old daughter into a swimming pool to teach her a lesson.

    Corey McCarthy’s actions were picked by a surveillance camera at the pool inPhoenix, Arizona, reported AZFamily.com.

    McCarthy reportedly told police that he threw his daughter Mia into the pool after she had dropped a five-month-old puppy dog in the pool and it drowned.

    He allegedly wanted to teach Mia a lesson about playing around in water.
