    Learn how to improve butterfly technique with Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record Holder Roland Schoeman and Coach Gary Hall. Butterfly is a challenging swimming stroke because it requires tremendous upper body strength and a strong kick. In order to perform great butterfly technique a swimmer not only needs great conditioning but also perfect timing. Good swimming technique for fly also requires minimizing the frontal drag forces that are so overpowering to all swimmers.

    A family visiting Santa Barbara from Orange County had an unexpected visitor on their kayak, a sea lion pup!! Rodney and Lisa Gist and their three kids spent more than a half-hour with the pup on the back of their kayak on Valentine’s Day. They say it’s a holiday they will never forget.

    The Kosovo Swimming Federation became the 208th FINA Member, after the recent approval of affiliation by the FINA Bureau. The distribution of the FINA National Member Federations in the five continents is now as follows: Africa – 52; Americas – 44; Asia – 44; Europe – 52; Oceania – 16.
