Israel is getting ready to welcome the participants of the European Short-Course Swimming Championships on 2-6 December – and those coming to Netanya will be numerous as a record participation is in sight with a month to go: so far 47 nations have registered preliminary entries.

At the last site visit conducted this week, LEN representatives could witness a precise delivery of the organisers’ masterplan. Inspections and discussions with the LOC leaders have convinced LEN Sports&Office Manager Marco Birri and LEN Technical Swimming Committee Chairman Soren Korbo that the Israeli hosts meet all demands in the key areas.

“The venue at the Wingate Institute is a great site for our championships” Marco Birri said. “Its 10-lane pool is regarded one of the fastest with its 3m depth and the warm-up facilities can also accommodate the record number of delegations. The organisers are taking care every little detail both at the venue and all participants’ accommodation and transport.”

For the first time in the history of the s/c Europeans the event will last for five days. Heats will start at 9.00hrs, the semis and finals are due at 17.00hrs.
