The Danes are testing out a for them new system this year, allowing only results from the Danish Open finals as qualification times for the World Championships in Shanghai and European Junior Championships in Belgrade this summer. It worked out well, with three swimmers qualifying for the World Championships and 10 for the European Junior Championships, during the first 2 hour-long final session, and Mie Ø. Nielsen from Aalborg erasing the 8 year record of Jeanette Ottesen in the 100 freestyle.
