    Riley Gaines, the former collegiate swimmer who went up against Lia Thomas, is dismayed by brands endorsing transgender TikTok star, Dylan Mulvaney. Brands producing female products, like sports bras and tampons, have controversially lined up to give promotional deals to Mulvaney.

    “I find it offensive. It’s a mockery!” Gaines exclaimed. “If you watch this promo video of Dylan with the Nike apparel. He’s doing these jumping jacks and stretching. Indicating that’s how women look when we work out. That’s not what we look like!”

    Day one of the South African National Swimming Championships was well attended in Port Elizabeth.

    Just over 450 of South Africa’s best swimmers have gathered at the Newton Park Pool to fight for qualifying spots at the World Champs in July. Freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke were the order of the morning, as the 200, 50 and 100-meter heats made waves.

    National swimmer Teong Tzen Wei has said that he is getting back to his best form, more than six months after his admission to consuming controlled drugs while on Team Singapore duty overseas. Firmly on the road to redemption, he is set to be one to watch in the coming SEA Games in Cambodia. The Asian 50-metre fly short-course record holder will also compete in the team relay for the first time.
