I’ve been in a minibus with this guy and Eamon Sullivan as late as in Stockholm in October, it was even more mini with them in it :-)

Also in these news, Eamon Sullivan is surprised that he maybe gets to race Ian Thorpe already now … and calls butterfly a ‘weird event’ :-)

“I had not even thought about it,” Sullivan said, with a laugh. “I did not even know he was doing it (freestyle). I thought he was just doing IMs and all weird events.”

Right, just had to do this … learning the language and realized that this would be my third post in a row mentioning ‘plugs’ or ‘plugging’. But seriously, never pull the plug ! :-)

Interesting concept, and thankfully both cheap and simple, see www.eyeswim.com. Now, personally I’ve always wanted a simple instant and automatic video replay system with slow-motion like what we sometimes see on fun rides. For start practices and stuff, preferably in a plug-in-and-go package, please go invent that ! :-)

This is exciting, Gary Hall Sr of the Race Club introducing part 1 of 4 part series analysing the underwater pull, digging into the classic drag versus lift discussion (or more nerdy, Newton’s second law of motion versus Bernoulli’s Principle of lift).

  • “Think, Don’t Swim” campaign film premieres in York

A hard-hitting film aimed at driving home the message of The Press‘s Think, Don’t Swim campaign is being premiered today at York’s City Screen cinema in Yorkshire, England. Bartender Richard Horrocks, 21, drowned in the Ouse after jumping into the water from a balcony close to the riverside cinema in July. He was the third person to die in York’s rivers so far this year, and his death prompted The Press to launch its campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of jumping or falling in the water, including the launch of posters and beer mats carrying the campaign message.
