“It was amazing. We were paddling along when all of a sudden I heard this sound, like heavy breathing. I looked back, and was shocked to see a cute grey seal staring back at me. It was really friendly and tame – it swam right up to my board, and started playing with us. It nipped my paddle and then tried to climb onto my board – I had to go down on my knees because I didn’t want the little critter toppling me in.

Former Mission Viejo Nadadores coach Daniel Ad’m Dusenbury has been banned for life by swimming’s national governing body after acknowledging having an inappropriate relationship with a female teenage Nadadores swimmer, the Orange County Register has learned.
Another prominent Orange County swim coach, Bill Jewell, has resigned his coaching position at Golden West Swim Club in the wake of a Register story detailing allegations of his inappropriate conduct toward female teenage swimmers, the Register also has learned.

Former European champion swimmer Ksenia Moskvina has been banned for six years for a repeat doping offense, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) said Thursday.
The Russian, 23, is already serving a one-year ban for her first doping offense and the new punishment will start on November 25, when her first sanction expires.
“Ksenia Moskvina is disqualified for a period of six years, starting from November 25, 2013, for a repeat breach of anti-doping rules,†RUSADA said in a website statement.
