A Fairfax County swim instructor has been arrested on charges that he molested a 7-year-old girl, police said.

Eduardo Requejo, 23, of Warwick Drive in Fairfax is facing two counts of aggravated sexual battery after a mother complained in early July that Requejo inappropriately touched her daughter on several occasions, Fairfax County police said.

Susan’s husband Stephen, 43, desperately tried to save his wife as she struggled in the cold water.

Her paramedic brother Dave, 40, was among those who battled in vain to revive her before she was airlifted to hospital by a French navy helicopter.

Despite efforts to save her, Susan was pronounced dead at 7pm on Sunday evening near Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Today, as her charity fund topped the £60,000 mark in her memory, coach Paul gave the first eyewitness account of what happened.

He recalled: “As we came to the point where she was only approximately one mile from the shore, Susan hit ‘the wall’.

“She had vomited several times due to a reaction to salt water and fatigue and was given the opportunity to change her stroke, which she did.

“She swam some of the best breast stroke I had ever seen her swim, for about 10 or 12 strokes.

“It was then that she stopped and complained that she couldn’t move her legs.

“Somewhere in the region of one or two minutes later, she collapsed.”

So it looks like this little mermaid won’t be able to swim freely, but she says the silver lining is all the support she’s received from the community. She says despite the setback, she still plans to reach her ultimate goal of swimming underwater at the Florida Aquarium. Perhaps then, this mermaid will find the fairytale ending.

Former swimmer Grant Hackett sent tongues wagging when he was spotted embracing a blonde woman outside his apartment last week, just weeks before the one-year anniversary of his divorce from Candice Alley.

Turns out the mystery lady is Shane Blackett (Hackett, Blackett, cute huh?), a model who works as a hostess at Ivy’s exclusive Level 6 penthouse in Sydney.
