Icelandic born Sindri Þór Jakobsson set a Norwegian record at Danish Open 2011 today, with a time of 2:02.38 in the 200 butterfly. Andreas Schiellerup and Daniel Skaaning set Danish junior records, Jeanette Ottesen and Pernille Blume qualified for Shanghai 2011, and three swimmers qualified for the European junior championships in Belgrade this summer.

Sindri Þór Jakobsson is Icelandic but switched sports nationality in October 2010, because of better financial opportunities for athletes in Norway. “Þór” is spelled and pronounced Thor in English.
