“I never expected that my career was going to be over at 23. I never wanted it to be. My ultimate goal was to be the most decorated female Olympic swimmer of all time, and I didn’t get that. That was something that from the moment I stepped onto the Olympic stage in London, I really, really believed I could do,†she said.

LEN confirms new dates for European Championships in Budapest (HUN), cancels Water Polo Cups
The 2020 European Aquatics Championships are now confirmed for 10-23 May 2021
The 2020 European Aquatics Championships in Swimming, Diving, Open Water Swimming, and Artistic Synchronised Swimming, originally planned for 11-24 May 2020 in Budapest (HUN) and provisionally re-planned at first for 17-30 August 2020, are now confirmed for 10-23 May 2021, in Budapest (HUN).
The decision to reschedule the Championships to 10-23 May 2021 has been taken in full cooperation and agreement with the Hungarian Swimming Association, the Hungarian Government and local organizers. We believe it is realistic to hope that by May 2021 things will have returned to normal, hence allowing the organization of an exceptional event.
The 2020 LEN Water Polo Cups competitions are cancelled
This means that there will be no continuation or additional games related to the 2019-2020 Water Polo Champions Leagues, the 2019-2020 Water Polo Euro League Women and the 2019-2020 Water Polo Euro Cup.

Water Polo Shooting: Master the “Catch and Shoot” ft. Maggie Steffens
Enjoy watching two-times Olympic Gold medallist and captain of USA’s Women’s Water Polo team Maggie Steffens show you how to master the “Catch and Shoot” in Water Polo! Catch and Shoot is Maggie Stevens’ all-time favorite way to shoot a goal. It’s not about what you do when you have the ball in your hands, it’s about what you do before you get the ball.
These tips will help up your game:
- be prepared & in position before receiving the ball
- stabilizing your body with your non-dominate leg
- rotate using your hips and your core
- finish and always crunch forward
