  • Race 2 of the Mina Mile Open Water Swim Series concluded at the Le Meridien Beach on March 12. Swimmers of different age groups competed in 4 distance categories in this event organized by Super Sports.

    The behind-the-scenes-style docu-series premieres April 11 and gives fans a look into Missy’s life as a world-class athlete, a daughter, a student and an infectious goofball.

    Many Witmer and Terri McNeany, from the local Jordan YMCA’s MultiFit club, stopped by the studio to talk about a three-day triathlon and the cause motivating their impressive physical goal.

    Witmer and McNeany are helping to raise money to send kids to swim lessons, a skill they say can save lives.

    The Nine Network showed video of the Australian actor bringing another swimmer to shore on Saturday before he had to help 15-year-old Oscar from the waves.

  • Russian swimmer Yana Martynova has been suspended for four years over doping, Martynova’s personal coach Gulnara Aminova told TASS on Friday.

    According to the coach, the drug ostarin has been found in the swimmer’s body system.

    “Yes, she [Martynova] has been suspended. It is what it is,” Aminova said.

    Some athletes have been acquitted while some others have been suspended for a lesser term. And their cases will be examined only in the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. But we won’t be able to pay for the services of that Court as we simply don’t have such money,” the swimmer’s personal coach said.
