The annual Sun Moon Lake Swimming Carnival was held Sunday in less-than-ideal weather. More than 18,000 participants, who were required to be fully vaccinated, braved the rain to take part in the event thatโs already in its 40th year. With COVID and a typhoon looming, organizers initially faced a real dilemma about whether to go ahead with the event. Good thing the storm was never a threat.
