Germany: Berliners swim freely in Spree despite high levels of water pollution

Several hundred swimmers took part in a swimming contest in the Spree River in the heart of Berlin, Sunday. Swimming in the water is normally prohibited due to water pollution and the presence of vessels that use the waterway.
