Ryan Lochte was already a very popular guy at the beginning of the FINA 2012 World Swimming Championships (25m) in Istanbul, Turkey, but grew to godlike status when he started to give away his medals to local kids at the venue.

Here is him surprising a kid with his 200 IM gold medal

This after setting a new World Record in the event

And here is him managing to give away his 100 IM gold medal, also
