THE axe has finally fallen on Swimming Australia head coach Leigh Nugent following Australia’s disastrous campaign at the London Olympics.

Faced with serious allegations he ignored complaints members of the men’s 4x100m freestyle team had harassed female swimmers, The Daily Telegraph understands Nugent’s dismissal will be announced either today or tomorrow.

In a press release last week, Bergen Swim Festival 2013 could boast a best ever field of world-class swimmers, including 4 male breaststroke finalists from the London 2012 Olympics. Also known as the Alexander Dale Oen Memorial, there is no doubt that the congregation of swim stars has a lot to do with them wanting to honor their lost friend Alex, who died just before last year’s meet in Bergen.
