    A lot of people like this photo on Flickr, which is reason enough for me to make it CC. Our three Faroese young guns Óli Mortensen (Havnar Svimjifelag), Eyðbjørn Joensen (Suðuroyar Svimjifelag) and Alvi Hjelm (Ægir) on top of the medal podium at a meet in Klaksvík in February 2012.

    Prince Harry charmed dozens of dignitaries, British expatriates, students and military officers at a cocktail party welcoming him to Colorado on Friday night and then joined the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to Olympian Missy Franklin, who was celebrating her 18th.

    Bimini is the sound stage for a movie called The Current. It is a documentary that Boulder filmmaker Kurt Miller is making through his nonprofit MakeAHero.org.

    It is a documentary about people with physical challenges who learning to scuba dive.

    The ocean is the great equalizer. There are no limits or comparisons as the water carries them.

    Franklin is the able bodied athlete ambassador for the film. She dives with NCAA Wrestling champion Anthony Robles, who was born without a right leg, and Mallory Weggamann, a gold medal Para Olympic swimmer. She was paralyzed from the waist down after a medical mistake.

    3rd and youngest on the team, peeking over at one of our local legends as their turn to race is closing in fast. He did well, Rólant, they were fastest but disqualified because of something that he had nothing to do with. And they got their revenge the day after.

    British journalist and author Rod Gilmour visited the Faroe Islands and the 2013 Faroese Short Course Swimming Championships this week, to do research for a book he is working on about Pál Joensen. Here is him being interviewed by Leivur Frederiksen at our national TV broadcasting company, during the second night of the Faroe Champs.
