Sweden is apparently allowing as many swimmers to qualify in each event as LEN allows them to enter, which is 4 swimmers in each individual event except the 800 and 1500 freestyle, where the limit is 2 in each event.

For the relays, the Swedish Swimming Federation selects first the swimmers who qualify individually in the (part) event, and then if needed additional swimmers to complete the relay. The Swedish team for Herning 2013 will be announced at the end of finals on Sunday 24 November.

‘- This is the first time ever that we are using this qualification system, and I expect it to result in very exciting championships competition in Gothenburg, when there is more than championships medals in play in the finals’, says Sports Director Henrik Forsberg

‘- I look forward to great swims in Gothenburg, and I see before me a big squad with about 30 swimmers who will get a good experience in international competition at the highest level in Herning’, says national coach Ulrika Sandmark.
