The London 2012 Olympic Village is now officially open for business, looks okay but the beds are tiny by most standards, some of us would call them ‘kid’s size’. Stephen Embry, now 55 years old, says he is dealing with demons that have haunted him since he was 12. He says he was sexually molested by a university swimming coach, Benn Merit at a Harvard pool. Merit committed suicide in his Bilerica home in 1996, after another man, an older brother of one of Embry’s childhood friends, had filed a lawsuit alleging sexual assault at the same Harvard pool by Merit. Ahh, just like home for some of us ;-) Tennis fans have likely noticed how often the retractable roof has been closed at Wimbledon over the last two weeks. There have been frequent weather-related delays, and the Met office (The United Kingdom’s national weather forecaster) is predicting more of the same for the coming month. Rain isn’t exactly rare in London this time of year. The average August in London receives just under two inches of rain.
