Sylvain Estadieu aka The Flying Frenchman, who soloed the English Channel in 2009 and before that swam a notorious Indidual Medley of Sandycove Island, will this September attempt to do the English Channel in butterfly only. Last week he managed a personal best 8-hour session of approximately 21.5K of butterfly. Why? He has some hilarious answers on his blog:

Do I do it to pick up chicks in bars?
NO! Go and ask the Viking Princess what she thinks about this!
Do I do it for money?
    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

“Instabeat is happy to collaborate with Athletes Without Limits to change the way their athletes swim.

Athletes Without Limits is a DC based non-profit that works with swimmers with intellectual disabilities to help them train for national and international competitions. One of the challenges their coaches face is being able to communicate the training parameters clearly. Instabeat’s color coded feedback sets an easier way to relate to these parameters.

For every Instabeat you order from the “Athletes Without Limits” section, we will donate one monitor to one of their swimmers. Help us make a difference: igg.me/at/instabeat”

    See It’s Relevant

Saturday marked seven years for Swim Across America’s Stamford swim — and lucky seven it was.

Saturday the swim set a new bar, raising over $475,000 for cancer research.

“[We’re swimming for] good friends — one who passed away, and another who has cancer,” said Ed Linekin of Ridgefield.
