Elizabeth Hurley’s Attempt to ‘Swim off the Calories’ Labelled Damaging by Experts
Elizabeth Hurley’s latest Instagram post has sparked a debate among body positivity advocates and fitness experts.
The actor and swimwear designer uploaded a clip of her swimming on holiday on Wednesday, teasing that she was “attempting to swim off the calories†she’d consumed.
While the caption might’ve been intended to be read as lighthearted, it points to a problematic perception of food and exercise, whereby one is conditioned by the other.
“Exercise is about so much more than how many calories it burns and how depressing to only think about it in that way,†says Hilary Rowland, co-founder of boutique spinning studio, Boom Cycle.

Woman attacked by alligator during nighttime swim
Wednesday night, trappers continued to search a lake in Citrus County for an alligator that attacked a homeless woman early that morning.
According to a Florida Fish & Wildlife spokesperson, Felicitie Marie Gillette was wading in Lake Hernando around 1 a.m. when a 5 to 6-foot-long alligator grabbed her left arm and tried to drag her under.

Humpback whale completely drenches whale watchers with an enormous splash
The video starts off serenely enough, with just a glimpse of a splash off in the distance, but as soon as the camera pans to the left a humpback whale can be seen emerging from the ocean. As the whale breeches near the boat an enormous splash soaks everyone aboard.
