Last Friday, a total of 154 water-skiers from all over the world attempted to break the world record for the number of skiers pulled behind one boat, demanding a full nautical mile inside Australia’s Macquarie Harbour in Strahan. Russian yachtsman Sergey Marchenko has been jailed for four and a half years and ordered to pay one million rubles in compensation to a young woman’s family, whom he ran down with a yacht back in 2010, in an area of a Moscow lake reserved for swimmers.
