A family in Mvita Mombasa County is seeking justice after their 3-year-old son died in a swimming pool on Friday evening. According to the family, they arrived at Mvita Comprehensive School swimming pool at 4 pm an hour later, the child drowned. Efforts to rescue him failed, with the family citing the lack of a professional swimming lifeguard at the facility as one of the key reasons the boy could not be saved. Mombasa County Executive for Education Dr Mbwarali Kame has called for a thorough investigation urging swimming pool owners to comply with safety regulations, especially during school holidays.
