BLACK HISTORY MONTH!
Swimming has always played a special place in my heart, and I’m extremely proud to have represented both of my duel Nationalities (Team GB and Team Jamaica) at the highest level. Earlier this month, I appeared on Channel 4’s Daytime Show – Steph’s Packed Lunch, where I investigated the racial divide in swimming to help find out why only 2% of mixed race and black ethnic minorities take up swimming. During the investigation, I interviewed Blue Peter Presenter Ayo Akinwolere and Britain’s first GBR Female Swimmer Rebecca Achieng Ajulu-Bushell to find out their perceptions on this topic.
Ayo also challenged me to a 25m swimming race… so we went head to head in Tooting Bec Lido to see who would win the race… hope you enjoy the video!
