After a dirt bike accident forced a 16-year-old swimmerรขโฌโขs leg to be amputated, she said sheรขโฌโขs not letting it keep her from swimming toward her dreams.
Kali Garman was a swimmer at Algona High School, and she also spent a lot of time at the YMCA. Despite losing her leg in June, she is staying positive and said sheรขโฌโขll swim again.
Garman said she wouldnรขโฌโขt even look at her right leg right after her amputation in July.
รขโฌลIt kind of seemed like if I didnรขโฌโขt look at it, it wouldnรขโฌโขt be real,รขโฌย she said.
Garman called swimming her mental escape.
