Liam Tancock Sets 50 Back World Record
Liam Tancock set a new 50 meters long course backstroke world record this evening, during evening preliminaries of the 200 backstroke at the British Championships in Sheffield. The new record is 24.47, obliterating the former record time of 24.80, that Thomas Rupprath swam in 2003. Source: Lane 9 News

Italy Bans The LZR Racer From Its Olympic Trials
The Italian Swimming Federation FIN has decided to ban the new Speedo LZR Racer swimsuit from their forthcoming Olympic trials, based on FINA rule 5.6: “The manufacturers must ensure that the approved new swimsuit will be available for all competitors”.
