Tokyo 2020 Olympic organisers said on Wednesday that tests showed levels of E. Coli up to 20 times above the accepted limit and faecal coliform bacteria seven times higher than agreed at the planned venue for marathon swimming and triathlon.

Organisers have vowed to improve the water quality to ensure the safety of athletes, including through installing underwater screens at Odaiba Marine Park to limit the amount of faecal coliform bactria flowing from offshore during rainy periods.

They also said they would consider amending event dates and times during the Games in response to weather conditions.

“We will take the best possible measures to make sure that the venue satisfies all relevant standards of international federations and that athletes can perform at their best feeling very safe,” Koji Murofushi, Tokyo 2020 sports director, told a news conference.

Olympic athletes hoping to live it up at the 2020 Games in Tokyo may be in for disappointment. In an attempt to save funds, the International Olympic Committee said Tuesday it will consider revising the “level of service” provided at the athletes village, the area set aside for athlete accommodations at the Olympics.

“We are putting a number of questions to those national Olympic committees as to how we think we can find savings by reducing, to an acceptable level, the level of service in the Olympic Village,” IOC Vice President John Coates told Tokyo 2020 organizers Tuesday (via Reuters).

Olympic swimming champion and Phoenix-area resident Michael Phelps took to social media Monday to say he is safe after attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas this weekend.

Phelps, and his wife Nicole, attended the three-day music festival with friends Friday night, he wrote on Instagram. The couple saw Friday’s headliner, country singer Eric Church, perform.

Hours after a gunman shot and killed more than 50 people and injured more than 500 at the same festival, Phelps and his wife took to social media to express their sympathies.

“Nicole and I were there with friends on Friday… I woke up this am with texts from a friends and family members making sure we were home and safe… My thoughts and prayers out to the affected family members and friends,” Phelps wrote.

The best triathlon wetsuit for poor swimmers needs to have the following features: more buoyancy in the triathletes legs, stabilization in the core area of the wetsuit, the ability for the triathlete to feel the swim catch at the front of the stroke, and buoyancy areas to encourage the triathlete to rotate his or her body side to side while swimming during a triathlon. Triathlon Taren uses the TYR CAT5 wetsuit to explain the features he looks for in a wetsuit being a poor swimmer himself.
