The 50 meter pool ‘Ãsvallalaug‘ in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, opened in 2008. Swimmers from Havnar Svimjifelag here in the Faroes have been competing there this weekend, at the 6th Actavis International Open, and did well. 3 Faroese records and a junior record, plus 3rd spot in the medal count. They were in high spirits, the British swimming team at the FINA 2009 World Championships in Rome, Italy. “SPQR” is short for “SenÄtus Populusque RÅmÄnus”, this guy must be a trainee since his sword is made out of wood :-P
