Germany’s Steffen Deibler became the one to set world record number 113 this year, and to be the first man under 22 seconds in the 50 meter short course butterfly, when he at the FINA World Cup 2009 meet in Berlin today improved upon his world record from last October, from 22.06 to 21.80 seconds. South Africa’s Roland Schoeman also managed to swim below the now former world record, with a time of 21.87 seconds. See results
Australia’s “Lethal” Leisel Jones is back with a vengeance, with a 100 meter short course breaststroke world record of 1:03.00 at the FINA World Cup 2009 meet in Berlin, where USA’s Jessica Hardy’s world record from last year was 1:03.72. Hardy also swam faster than the now former world record time, with a time of 1:03.30. See results
