One of the big thinkers of our sport passed away yesterday, 85-year-old Cecil Colwin out of South Africa, for 26 years placing fellow countrymen on every Olympic team until South Africa was banned from Olympic competition. According to aoh.dk, the city council of Herning, Denmark has voted yes to host the 2013 European Short Course Swimming Championships, in the indoor arena Jyske Bank Boxen. It was a split decision with the Social Democrats voting no, saying that the DKK 5 million investment could be used better elsewhere, but the majority voted yes.Via swimnews.dk.
