Italy hands Hungary its worst ever defeat, reaches QF, Serbia also through Italy and Serbia already secured the top spots of their respective groups and a place in the quarter-finals. A 78-year-old West Dunbartonshire grandad has become a hero after coming to the rescue of a former Olympian. Benjamin Scullion, 78, pulled Lachie Stewart, 75, from the bottom of a swimming pool when the Commonwealth Games gold medallist fell unconscious in the water. Benjamin’s quick thinking saved the sporting legend who is now recovering in hospital. Lachie Stewart won gold for Scotland at the 1970 Commonwealth Games. The waters between San Francisco and Alcatraz, a former prison, are rife with urban legend. Some say the water is too dangerous for swimming, but Mitali Khanzodé, 16, and her sister Anaya, 12, see the water as a place to make and break open water swimming records. Anaya currently holds the record as the youngest person to swim the span of the Golden Gate Bridge, which was previously held by her sister.
