A Perth music producer is remembered as talented and warm-hearted, after he died in a New Year’s Day diving tragedy. Charlie Young, 26, was found unresponsive at a popular dive trail in Rockingham at midday but paramedics couldn’t revive him. Known as the underwater Indiana Jones, Dr. Charles Beeker has been investigating shipwrecks since the 1960s. Unfortunately, these portholes to the past are vanishing as marine salvage operators and hobby divers are plucking treasures from these sites. Almost 400 swimmers launched themslves in cold waters of Prague’s Moldau river for the Alfred Nikodem memorial race. Wednesday’s event was the 70th edition of the country’s oldest winter swimming competition.
