Officials Warn of Swimming Risks After Child Pulled From Water at Edgewater Beach | WKYC Channel 3

A child was taken to the hospital after being pulled from the water at Edgewater Beach Tuesday evening, the Cleveland Division of Fire said.

According to a fire department spokesperson, crews responded to the beach shortly after 8:15 p.m. Cleveland Metroparks police removed a “minor female” from the water and immediately began CPR before fire crews arrived.

Fire department personnel helped treat the girl at the scene and assisted as EMS transported the girl to a hospital.

A Cleveland Metroparks spokesperson said officers responded after a “female juvenile entered the water outside the designated swim area before going underwater.”

“She was brought ashore shortly afterward and transported for medical attention,” the spokesperson said.

The police did not provide an update on the girl’s current condition.

Cleveland Metroparks police say two other children “exited the water with assistance and did not require medical transport.”
