A new public swimming dock is now open on the Ottawa River behind the Canadian Museum of History, giving residents and visitors another place to cool off this summer.
CTV’s Natalie van Rooy reports the National Capital Commission officially opened the free swimming area Friday, with visitors already taking advantage of the waterfront location.
The NCC says the dock is intended for experienced swimmers, with no lifeguards on duty, while life jackets are available to borrow on site.
Water quality is tested up to four times a week, and swimmers can scan a QR code at the dock to view the latest test results before entering the water.
