I had been LIVE at The Wedge for a couple of hours, capturing the incredible surfing, bodyboarding, and chaos that makes this place so unique… when everything suddenly changed.
A Bodyboarder got into serious trouble in the water. After hearing a desperate cry for help from his wife on the beach, I immediately put my camera down and swam out to help a Newport Beach Lifeguard during the rescue.
This wasn’t something I ever expected to happen during a livestream.
In this video, I share the full story from my perspective, what led up to the rescue, what it was like in the water, and how everything unfolded.
Thankfully, everyone made it back to shore safely.
