Summer, sun, a refreshing dip – but for a growing number of people, jumping into the water is proving fatal. In June alone, 22 people lost their lives in swimming accidents in North Rhine-Westphalia. That’s more than 80 percent higher than in the same month last year and more fatalities than in any other German state. Young men are particularly affected.
