Two Washburn Rural Seniors Lead Swim Team to Best Finish at State Ever | WIBW 13 NEWS | Topeka, KS

State Swimming and Diving in Topeka last weekend made a couple of local student athletes first-time State Champions.

Washburn Rural seniors Jack Miranda and Brogan Meier both took home gold medals, and helped the Junior Blues get their best finish in program history. They tied for third overall as a team with Manhattan.

Jack won the 500-yard freestyle, while Brogan won the 50-yard freestyle.

“Seeing that number one, the excitement and the feeling of getting first place on my last year is crazy,” Jack said.
