A French city closed two public swimming pools after sevenรย Muslim womenรย รขโฌลinspired by Rosa Parksรขโฌย defied a citywide ban to swim in theirรย burkinisรย on Sunday, despite a heatwave that triggered special measures to protect public health.
Theรย protestรย was part of a campaign dubbed Operation Burkini, launched in May byรย Grenobleรขโฌโขs Citizen Alliance, which saw burkini-clad protestorsรย break the banรย for the second time in five weeks.
