London 2012 bronze medallist Ryo Tateishi has announced his retirement from competitive swimming after competing at the Japanese National Championships.
The 27-year-old posted a message to his Instagram account to confirm the news, before holding a final press conference.
รขโฌลThe news has already passed, but this is the last time I swim at the Japanese championship,รขโฌย Tateishi said.
รขโฌลWhen I gave up I thought about friends and parents who supported me from childhood.
รขโฌลThank you very much for your company and everyone who cheered us for a long time.รขโฌย
