She is one of Britain’s most successful sportswomen and a double Olympic gold-medal winner, but the swimmerรย Rebecca Adlingtonรย has revealed that Twitter trolls repeatedly accused her of letting the country down after she won bronze in London 2012.
The 25-year-old said she had blocked thousands of people onรย Twitterรย and still regularly received abuse via the social networking site. “It was something I never expected,” she said. “I have never wanted to be famous, you definitely don’t get into swimming for the fame.
