Swedish 2004 Olympian Cathrin Levander (Carlzon) was yesterday’s big hero in Uppsala, Sweden, when she while jogging in the cold winter night came by a crowd that was – to say the least – in distress. A baby carriage with a fastened two-year-old child on board had rolled down into the river, and they couldn’t find it. Cathrin jumped into the water and managed to find the carriage with her toes, a couple of meters below the water surface, where after she with from others got the cart and boy out of the water, to paramedics who immediately started resuscitation on the boy. Suffering from hypothermia, he was brought to the local hospital, together with his deeply shocked father. Later Wednesday night the boy was said to be stable, but still kept under observation in intensive care. Police is investigating the incident, suspecting no foul act.
