FINA invites four Finnish swimmers to the Olympics

The Finnish swimming federation announces here that FINA has invited Ari-Pekka Liukkonen, Matti Mattsson, Emilia Pikkarainen and Hanna-Maria Seppälä for the London 2012 Games, in addition to 1500m swimmer Matias Koski who qualified in early April. Sports director Ippe Natunen comments: ‘This is truly a wonderful thing! We aimed to have five swimmers at the London Games, it was a difficult goal, and now it is being fulfilled.’ Via simma.nu/fi

  • Matti Mattsson (M) 200 breaststroke 2:12.65
  • Emilia Pikkarainen (F) 100 butterfly 59.02
