Olympic legend Michael Phelps has according to the New York Post split with his longtime girlfriend Nicole Johnsen, a former Miss California. She travelled with him to Shanghai 2011, but sources say now that the couple broke up a few weeks ago, and that Phelps is telling friends he’s single. Bleacher Report speculates if this is a bad omen of things to come for Phelps, that he’ll loose focus with London 2012 only half a year away. Aussie bookies are betting on him getting back together with old flame Stephanie Rice.
