Earlier this month, a Central Florida diver broke the world record for longest saltwater dive by almost five minutes after spending two days under turbulent seas. 45-year-old Allen Sherrod dove in at 10:12 AM Thursday morning December 1st when the sea was flat, but that swiftly changed and conditions deteriorated, meaning he had to spend much of his time kneeling on the sea floor to stabilize himself and prevent seasickness, while clinging to an artificial reef to fend off strong currents. But he broke the now former record of 48 hours, 8 minutes and 7 seconds, now 48 hours and 13 minutes, having only a few ribs broken and hands swollon and skin broken and stuff like that. Via The Palm Beach Post and CBS Miami.
