The Faroese Swimming Association (Svimjisamband Føroya) visits HS Tórshavn (Havnar Svimjifelag), as part of our annual roundtrip to all Faroese swim clubs. Which sounds more impressive than it is, as there are only 6 active swim clubs on the Faroe Islands. Still, halfway through the program tonight :-P

“FLOT-stevnan 2013” managed to attract a record number of (gasp) 155 participants, which might very well be the largest number of swimmers at a Faroese swim meet ever. Don’t laugh, 155 is about 3 ‰ of the total Faroese population. I should have moved that ladder.

Our older son Jákup readying himself for his first real swim competition, a 16 meter freestyle at the FLOT meet in Toftir, Faroe Islands on 23 February 2013. He did well, got a registered time and everything :-)

Father and son from Tórshavn at our local club meet here in Toftir, Faroe Islands today, 23 February 2013. I coached him (the father) in this pool back in the 90’s. It is a good feeling.
